The story of Tosoh Finechem is one of great achievements through inspired thinking and constant improvement. It began in 1965 with the founding of Toyo Stauffer Chemical Co., Ltd, a firm that quickly developed a reputation for pioneering breakthrough technologies. In 1987, the company merged with Akzo Corporation of the Netherlands to create Tosoh Akzo Corporation renowned for high-end, high-quality products. The new millennium inspired a new name, Tosoh Finechem Corporation, whose focus continues to remain customer-oriented while constantly striving for improvements in product quality and expansion of services. In 2017, three Tosoh Corporation subsidiaries, namely, Tosoh Finechem Corporation, Tosoh F-Tech, Inc. and Tosoh Organic Chemical Co., Ltd. merged and Tosoh Finechem Corporation is the surviving entity. Each of the three subsidiaries used to produce organic compounds of distinct characteristics. The merger will combine our specialized technologies to accelerate the development of chemical compounds, will facilitate the most effective use of production facilities, and will improve responsiveness to customers’ diverse needs. Tosoh Finechem Corporation will be positioned as a highly profitable and development-driven manufacturer of fine chemicals.
